About ClubDrugs.org and Our Editorial Standards

ClubDrugs.org is an independent online publication about club and party drugs and the health questions around them: what a substance really is, how it interacts with alcohol and medicines, what drug tests detect, how to recognize an overdose and where treatment starts.

What we publish

Guides answer one practical question at a time, in plain American English, for adults and for the friends and families who look things up at 2 a.m. They describe risks and warning signs; they never explain how to obtain, dose or conceal a drug, and they are not a substitute for a doctor, a pharmacist or a lawyer.

Where the facts come from

U.S. public health agencies: CDC, SAMHSA, FDA, NIDA and MedlinePlus;
peer-reviewed medical research and poison-center reports;
state statutes for legal questions such as Good Samaritan protections.

Figures such as detection windows, prices and legal status change over time and between places. Guides give the range the sources support and say what moves it. If you spot an error, tell us and we will check it against the source.

Independence and partner content

ClubDrugs.org is not a government website and is not affiliated with NIDA, the National Institutes of Health or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. An earlier government site used a similar name on this domain; its public-education pages are kept as labeled archive pages. Articles contributed or paid for by partners are marked "Partner content", are collected on a separate partner page and are not health guides.
